The Imperial Society of dance (ISTD) are one of the leading dance examination boards in the UK and worldwide. 

At Aspire we encourage our students to to take ISTD examinations in Ballet, Modern, Jazz , Tap, Street and Disco Freestyle. Although they are not compulsory, they give the student a valuable base on which to record progress and success. They are also recognised by the government and QCA and we will be useful for those students who choose to go to university and applying for jobs in the industry. Some higher exam grades are equivalent to GCSE and A Levels.

Where one class is taken, some pupils who excel and show promise may be invited to take extra classes.
